Jacob Taff is an American musician, lyricist, and producer based in Los Angeles.

Kinky Girls From Big Cities

Jacob Taff began Kinky Girls From Big Cities in his Los Angeles recording studio during the 2020 lockdown. He writes and produces the band's discography and personally coded the official website. Inspired by the 2013–2016 Los Angeles garage rock scene, Jacob began performing DIY free shows across Los Angeles and New York City with local musicians.

The Hellp

In 2018, Jacob Taff began working with The Hellp at his Los Angeles studio, Houndsound. Between 2018-2020, Jacob Taff, Noah Dillon, and Chandler Lucy collaborated in the studio, producing, engineering, and recording multiple releases.

EPs created during this period include Curtis, Lucy, and Vol. 1, along with singles such as “SSX” and “Tu Tu Neurotic.” Tracks produced and recorded during these sessions include “Impact,” “Peroxide,” “Hot Fun,” “Undertow,” “Sinamen,” “Height,” “Feel,” “Bruce,” “No Angel,” “New Wave America,” and “Vertigo.”

Jacob Taff contributed production, engineering, recording, mixing/mastering and backing vocals on select releases. In 2023, he performed live with The Hellp on select tour dates, playing electric guitar.

Dapurr

In his teens, Jacob Taff produced electronic music under the moniker Dapurr in his bedroom studio. His following grew on soundcloud with multiple remixes and originals such as Opus3 by Dapurr.

Jacob met with Teo Arias for production on his single 'Palm Trees'. The song was composed off of an instrumental riff he wrote. It features his backing vocals in the beginning of the track and kept the orginal Palm Trees track title.
